Job Description

We are looking to add an Accounting, Operations, and IT Specialist to our organization. The Accounting, Operations & IT Specialist is core to the success of our business and is an ideal role for someone who wants to contribute more broadly to a growing business. You will be part of a support team that works well together and helps to drive our success. We are looking for someone who is proactive – someone who can take projects and run with them. Interest in continuous process and cost improvements is key. Ability to manage the technology platform of the business is also a priority. We have several software systems which need to be managed and more effectively integrated to better support the business.

The purpose of this position is to manage the financial operations of the firm. The successful candidate acts as the point of contact for all inquiries for invoices and assignment fee statements. The successful candidate would contribute positively to a great experience for clients by making our accounting and operations processes easy, client focused and effective. The right candidate will understand the operations of the business and major clients so as to be proactive and add value to the team and to clients. The successful candidate will also be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our business finances, reporting any variances against previous months and providing analysis of differences. The individual will have overall responsibility for streamlining and managing our invoicing and collections process, preparing assignment fee statements, and creating budgets for assignments.

Responsibilities:

  • Budget Management/Reporting for all projects
  • Time Tracking and Expenses Management
  • Invoicing/ Assignment Fee Statements
  • Accounting & Reporting: Annual forecasts and budgets. Monthly financial statements. Payables. Tax and Year end reporting.
  • IT: oversee and improve on our technology to support to the business. Identify current and future technology needs. Manage the implementation of all systems

Qualifications

  • Diploma/Degree in Accounting (CGA/CMA/CPA)
  • Three years of business experience
  • Experience with month-end/year-end process
  • Sound knowledge of database management to integrate information from different data sets
  • Desire and capacity to introduce business process improvements
  • Some knowledge of the professional development industry
  • Interest and experience in managing technology projects

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills
  • Superior organizational skills with demonstrated ability to execute responsibilities on time
  • Able to establish and maintain professional networks and relationships
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • Strong computer and technology skills (Quickbooks, Excel, Word and database management) with track record of identifying new innovative technology solutions
  • Able to recommend commercial changes to run a more profitable and successful business
